Ebû Bekr-i Şiblî bir gün yolda giderken, buldukları bir ceviz için kavga eden iki çocuk gördü. Şiblî hazretleri cevizi alıp onlara;

"Sabredin, bu cevizi size paylaştırayım." dedi.

Sonra cevizi açınca, cevizin içi boş çıktı.

Bu sırada şöyle bir ses duydu: "Eğer taksim yapan ve kısmet dağıtan biriysen, şimdi bunu da taksim etsene."

Bunun üzerine Şiblî hazretleri, "Bütün bu kavga, içi boş bir ceviz için, taksim etmek ise bir hiç içinmiş!" dedi.
